Как видим, члены семьи не могут не смотреть на свои телефоны (can’t stop looking at their phones), а чтобы передать на английском зависимость от гаджетов, можно употребить следующие фразы:
- to be obsessed with — быть одержимым чем-то
- to be addicted to — быть зависимым от
- to be dependent on — зависеть от
- to be hooked on — подсесть на что-то
Я, например, полностью зависима от (dependent on) своего телефона. Из-за своей зависимости (addiction) мне постоянно нужно заряжать телефон (charge the phone), когда батарея разрядилась (the battery is very low), срочно пополнить счет (top up my account), если на мобильном заканчиваются деньги (I’m running out of money on my mobile), чтобы позвонить кому-то (give smb a call / ring smb up / to phone smb / to call smb), написать сообщение (to text smb), а городской телефон (landline) я использую, чтобы найти потерявшийся в квартире мобильный 😊 And what about you?
