У задания на словообразование в 11 классе есть некоторые особенности, которые нужно помнить.
Во-первых, возможно использование двух словообразовательных частей одновременно – и приставка, и суффикс. Например:
fortune – unfortunately
understand – misunderstanding
Во-вторых, если мы получаем существительное, надо выяснить, не требуется ли нам форма множественного числа. В таких случаях нужно одновременно осуществить и словообразование, и словоизменение. Например:
difficult – difficulties
Распознать этот момент можно по словам, выражающим некоторое количество – different, numerous, a number of, one of the most, more, some, a few и тд. Например:
The magazine Popular Science called the Ericsson R380 smartphone one of the most important achievements in science and technology (achieve).
Иногда бывает, что слова-количества нет, но отсутствие неопределённого артикля «a» перед исчисляемым предметом уже сигналит о том, что число – множественное ! Например:
Although this section is not popular among tourists, it is a well-known site for archeologists (archeology).
Также, в некоторых предложениях, где полученное существительное является подлежащим, множественное число мы узнаём по форме сказуемого.
Consumers receive their water from one of two sources: a private well, or a community water system (consume).
