My top 5 books of 2021

"Nineteen minutes" I had bought this book before horrible events happened in Kazan’. I have never understood, I don’t understand and I won’t understand how someone can take a gun and shoot somebody, because he or she doesn’t like something. School bullying is the most disgusting thing that can happen with teenagers, but it’s not reason to take away someone’s life. . "Девятнадцать минут" Эту книгу я купила задолго до ужасных событий в Казани. Я никогда не понимала, не понимаю и никогда не пойму, как можно взять оружие и кого-то расстрелять только потому, что тебе что-то не нравится...

“Sandcastle” Let's start with that I didn’t know it was a comics. I’ve never read comic books before. And off the top of my head is “ohh, it is pictures, not a book, okay”. Of course I was reading for 1 or 2 hours, no more. So, it was a new experience for me, because when I saw “flah, flah” or “woof, woof” or “oooooommmmm” on the whole page, I was confused, I didn't use to read it. But I have got to hand it to this book, it was interesting and my mind tried to animate and visualise pictures. By the way, there is a film “Old” by M. Night Shyamalan (www.kinopoisk.ru/...90) . "Замок из песка" Начну с того, что я не знала, что это комикс и никогда раньше не читала их. Первое, что пришло на ум - это "оу, это картинки, не книга, окей". Естественно, я прочитала его за 1-2 часа, не больше. Это однозначно что-то новое для меня, потому что когда я вижу “flah, flah” or “woof, woof” or “oooooommmmm” на всю страницу, то я в замешательстве, так как никогда раньше не читала такое. Но надо отдать должное, книга действительно интересная и мой мозг пытался анимировать и визуализировать все картинки. Кстати, по комиксу снят фильм (www.kinopoisk.ru/...90)

“A man with one of those faces” I was impressed by the description: professional stand-up comic, screenwriter, creator of comedian serials. It was supposed to be a hilarious (sometimes with funny black humor) detective story, but it is not. I don’t know for sure, maybe it was a problem with translation and all jokes were missed. I didn’t find this book funny. Sometimes I was getting a grip and trying to read to the end. Fair and square, the plot is not breathtaking and interesting, but I know that “A man with one of those faces” is at the top in the different book sites. . "Человек с одним из многих лиц" Я была под впечатлением от описания: профессиональный stand-up комик, сценарист, автор комедийных сериалов. Это должна была быть очень смешная (местами с черным юмором) детективная история, но, увы, нет. Возможно, это проблема перевода и все шутки были упущены. К сожалению, я не нашла ничего смешного. Время от времени, я брала себя в руки и пыталась дочитать до конца. Если честно, то и сюжет оказался не очень интересным, но я точно знаю, что "Человек с одним из многих лиц" занимает топовые позиции в рейтинге и однозначно найдем своего читателя.
