German Legacy Tour in Russia (Eng) March 16, 2025 (Moscow, Lefortovo) It was truly wonderful to see 20 of us from around the world—Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Buryatia (Russia), Germany, Japan, Finland, the UK, and Russia—coming together for a memorable walk through Moscow’s historic Lefortovo district. The day was filled with fascinating discoveries as we explored the German Quarter and Vedensky Cemetery, immersing ourselves in the city’s rich cultural heritage. Our journey began at the Lefortovo History Museum, where we explored rare artifacts that shed light on the district’s past. Our guide, Evgeniya, provided fascinating insights into the lives of key figures from Peter the Great’s era, illustrating how their influence shaped the city’s landscape and architecture. Strolling through Lefortovo Park, we admired the elegant alleys and historic designs of architects like Rastrelli and Beauvais. The pleasant weather made the experience even more enjoyable, allowing us to take in the beauty of the surroundings while learning about the history woven into its structures. One of the most profound moments of the day was our visit to Vedensky Cemetery, a historic burial site where many prominent figures rest. We stopped at the graves of notable Germans who left a lasting impact on Moscow, including industrialist Ludwig Knop, philanthropist and doctor Friedrich Joseph Haass, engineer and entrepreneur Gustav List, publisher Theodor Ries, and merchant Alexander Knoop. The cemetery, with its beautifully crafted tombstones and rich history, offered a deep sense of connection to the past. At the Lutheran Church, built in 1911, we paused to reflect on its role in the community. One of our guests, Seija from Finland, was particularly moved to learn that services are still conducted in Finnish. Guided by Waldemar, a third-generation German, with English translation provided by Maria, the tour was a truly enriching experience. It was heartening to witness how many people continue to appreciate Moscow’s diverse history. The presence of German-Russian families remains a testament to the deep cultural ties between our communities, showing that history is not just preserved but actively lived. This walk was a reminder of the enduring legacies of different cultures in Russia, highlighting how their contributions continue to inspire and shape future generations. Вечер культуры Дагестана в Москве: Традиции, Искусство и Гостеприимство 14 марта 2025 Москва, отель Paveletskaya Aero В самом сердце Москвы состоялся международный вечер, посвященный культуре Дагестана, собравший гостей из Японии, Сьерра-Леоне, Германии, Азербайджана, Великобритании и различных регионов России. Это уникальное событие прошло в отеле Paveletskaya Aero, который также является домом для гуманитарного фонда помощи нуждающимся и патриотов Дагестана. Кулинарное гостеприимство Хозяева вечера Тажудин Абдулбариевич Исрапилов и Шахри Тахнаева радушно принимали гостей, накрыв традиционный дагестанский стол для 25 человек. В меню были легендарный суп из 7 злаков, кютабы и национальные сладости, приготовленные по старинным рецептам. Искусство и культура Гости были поражены выставкой картин Шахри, хозяйки вечера и отеля. Несмотря на то, что она начала рисовать недавно, ее работы уже стали ярким отражением природы Дагестана и его уникальной архитектуры. Кроме того, была представлена коллекция традиционных костюмов лакцев и других народов Дагестана, собранная Патиммат Гаммадовой — известным мастером балхарской керамики и коллекционером этнической одежды. В ее коллекции насчитывается 50 уникальных костюмов, каждый из которых представляет разные аулы республики. Музыкальная и танцевальная программа Настоящим украшением вечера стали: Выступление Халиды Абуевой, исполнившей песни на лакском языке под аккомпанемент древнего музыкального инструмента — бубна, создавая завораживающую атмосферу. Мастер-класс по лезгинке от Шамиля Магомедова и Разият Нурмагомедовой, который зарядил гостей невероятной энергией и оставил незабываемые впечатления. Кино и приглашение в Дагестан Гости с особым интересом посмотрели 5-минутный документальный фильм о Дагестане, специально записанный австрийским режиссером и давним жителем республики Андреасом Царом. В своем видеообращении он пригласил всех присутствующих посетить Дагестан и лично убедиться в его красоте и гостеприимстве. Благодарности Особая благодарность: Derbent Wine — за поддержку вечера. Юрию Ядрову — за прекрасные фотоматериалы. Хозяевам и организаторам — за теплый прием и атмосферу, которая позволила гостям проникнуться духом Дагестана. Этот вечер стал по-настоящему незабываемым событием, объединяющим людей разных культур вокруг богатого наследия Дагестана.

Лекция и концерт в Музее Рати в Крутицком подворье 15 февраля 2025 года в Музее Рати на Крутицком подворье состоялась увлекательная лекция и экскурсия на английском языке. Отец Евгений провёл для группы из 18 человек захватывающий рассказ о православии, вере и истории Крутицкого подворья. Гости отметили, что никогда раньше не встречали такого харизматичного и эрудированного священнослужителя. Вечер украсило музыкальное выступление Любови Золотовой и её группы Aurus. В программе Joie de vivre прозвучали редкие песни разных эпох, создавая атмосферу исторического путешествия сквозь музыку. Среди участников мероприятия были гости из Китая, Финляндии, Дании, Германии, Канады и США. Все остались в восторге от экскурсии и концерта, отметив уникальность события и тёплую атмосферу. "Крутицкому подворью на Руси отводилась особая роль: быть предстателями пред Господом за всех православных, страждущих в чужих краях."

An Evening of Cultural Harmony: Classical Music at Marina Tsvetaeva’s House Museum On December 28, 2024, an enchanting evening of classical music unfolded at the historic home museum of the renowned Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva. This special event brought together a diverse audience from across the globe, including guests from the United States, the UK, Canada, France, Algeria, Kenya, Slovenia, Poland, South Korea, Russia, and South Africa. A special thank you goes to the British Business Club for generously supporting the event and inviting its esteemed members. It was heartening to see such a vibrant mix of attendees, including representatives from the diplomatic corps of Slovenia and Argentina, and members of the Russian-Korean diaspora. Lana Tian, a journalist from the Russian Koreans newspaper, was also among the distinguished guests. The evening was not only a celebration of classical music but also a cultural exchange that fostered friendship and goodwill. With its historical significance and charming atmosphere, the Marina Tsvetaeva House Museum provided the perfect setting, featuring a beautiful antique piano that added to the authenticity of the experience. A Program of Musical Excellence The program opened with a delightful performance by the renowned piano duo, The Taste of Piano, who played Mozart’s witty Sonata in F Major, captivating the audience for 24 minutes. The stage then welcomed Kazakh-born soprano Diana Dauletbayeva, who delivered an exquisite rendition of Schubert’s The Shepherd on the Rock, accompanied by pianist Nikolay Gangnus and Daria Pleskachevskaya and clarinetist Alexey Sorokin. Adding a vibrant touch to the evening, Anna Makarenko, a soloist from the Bolshoi Theatre, performed mesmerizing pieces from Carmen and Veil Songs. The program showcased both emotional depth and intellectual contrasts, underscoring the timeless impact of musical geniuses such as Brahms, whose Souvenir de la Russie highlighted his admiration for Russian folk traditions. The inclusion of Danse Macabre infused the evening with a metaphysical flair, resonating deeply with the Russian spirit’s characteristic exploration of existential themes. The final performance, delivered by a Korean bass and longtime friend of the organizers, concluded the event with the moving aria Eugene Onegin’s Aria, celebrating mature love and emotional depth. Culinary Delights and Grateful Acknowledgments The evening’s culinary offerings were prepared by Masha Moon, a talented chef from Tarusa, known for her Korean fusion cuisine. Tarusa itself is steeped in literary history, having been a retreat for many Russian intellectuals, including Tsvetaeva, who spent significant time there. The event’s success would not have been possible without the contributions of many. Special thanks go to Alexandra and Rufat from the Marina Tsvetaeva Museum administration, barman Vladimir, who served exquisite Dagestani wines, and photographer Yury Yadrov, whose lens has captured countless memories over the past decade. Additional gratitude goes to Claire from the Philippines for her invaluable assistance with food preparation. Bridging Cultures Through Music This evening was more than just a classical music concert—it was a testament to the power of art to break down barriers and unite people. Marina Tsvetaeva herself embodied this spirit, striving to build bridges across cultures and foster understanding. In today’s world, events like these remind us of the importance of connection, friendship, and the timeless beauty of art and music.
