Famine '33 (Holod-33) is the first feature film about the 1932-33 famine in Soviet Ukraine. In the course of the famine, known as the Holodomor, deliberately organized on Kremlin orders to force the Ukrainian peasantry into collectivization, millions of people lost their lives.
