Melting.
He tries to process the front edges of the shadow to get a natural look from light to dark. After he has set up this variation, Bruce then adds a little more matt crescent-shaped substance to form deeper shadows under the back of the head, as in the last two photos on the left. It also adds deeper shadows to the lower cheek area as in the upper right photo. He will return and treat these areas with his scrubs until he gets the tonal qualities in the shadows he is trying to achieve. When he finishes changing the shadows, Bruce puts the glass on a hot plate to dry...

Matte paint.
It then applies a thin layer of matte paint over the entire surface of the image, applying it in several layers in different directions. As a result, the painted surface is visible in the first two photos on the right. At the moment, the mat is still quite striped. These stripes are removed at the next stage when Bruce slightly looks back and forth through the image with his badger brush. The brush is dry, and its tips barely touch the glass when it sweeps it in several directions throughout the image, as in the third and fourth photo on the right...

Painted beads.
It flips over the spatula to prevent paint from accumulating on one side. Bruce can now either scrub the ink in a pile and start drawing, or move it to a jar and use it from a jar for slow drying. He tries not to hurt himself with paint and if he does, he is immediately cleaned. He ends up washing the tray with more clove oil. Be sure to clean it well so you don't have any paint on your hands. Painted beads In this example, Bruce will show you how to draw an image with vitreous glass paint on a small plate that can then be built into a fused bead...

Paint Mixing
Another way Bruce can change the density of paint is by inserting light-transmitting holes into it. This process, called spotting, consists of repeatedly rubbing the brush into a wet mat. On the other hand, the paint can be applied by rubbing a wet brush into a clean glass to form a similar porous mat. You can use their badger for punctuation, but the preferred brush is an English bull tail styler. Most often another set of brushes, called scrubs, is used to further modify the mattress. A typical set of scrubs can be seen in the photo at the bottom of the page...

Painting on glass.
Painting on glass is a little more complicated than painting on canvas because the image is made for lighting on both sides of the glass. This way, you can not just paint out details you don't like, but you can refuse or change any paint you are not happy with before it is fired. Bruce has been painting on glass since the late 60s. The fragment on the left is an early experimental fragment that we discussed earlier. It takes 16 burns. He became a master in this art, as well as the keeper of the 16th century Axt collection of medallions and anonymous private collection of 11-17th-century glass...
