He walked through the courtyard, watching the servants snooping around, training Golden cloaks and the courtiers, flocks of small balconies. All this was unusual for a simple guy who grew up far in the North. Mira and Kamila decided to get out of the castle and walk around the city, Orvin apparently still slept asleep after last night's sleepless night...

When they reached the Dirty Gate, where the people were swarming with people in a hurry to the fish market as usual, the men went down to the marina of Blackwater. They walked along the river, squinting at the dazzling rays of the scorching sun and watching as boats were leaving the ships now and then. The oars took off and hit the sparkling surface of the water again and again, creating fountains of bright splashes. At the quay, merchant ships, galleys, claws, and all sorts of small boats swayed...

The narrow streets of Flea's End were not blocked and the houses were so close that they almost touched each other.
