Recently, I watched a film The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (released in 2021). I was surprised to find out that some of the very familiar images were real works of art by that extraordinary artist. Now, it seems to me that every image of a cat I see somewhere is painted by Louis Wain. So weird.
The film is quite nice: it describes Wain’s life with all the drama and tragedy he experienced, including mental health problems. Benedict Cumberbatch is, as always, fantastic. I guess if you watch the film in English, you will get more out of it.
