Why it works:
1. The Pun:
- It sounds just like Tuesday but is spelled Chews-day to highlight the word chews (as in chewing).
- Reindeer are herbivores. They spend a lot of time munching on lichen, moss, grasses… and in this silly holiday world, even mistletoe (a festive plant often hung and kisses above doorways)!
2. Holiday Whimsy:
- Mistletoe isn’t actually a typical reindeer snack (and can be mildly toxic!), but in Christmas jokes, why not!
- The image of a reindeer casually chewing mistletoe like gum is just absurd enough to be charming.
