I tell myself to focus on strengthening what I’ve built.
Even though I’m very good at building things from scratch and rising from my falls, falling and rebuilding things shouldn’t become a pattern.
Growth is when you continuously move to the next stage, not when you walk in loops pretending to be busy getting your life in order. The next stage is strengthening what you’ve built, not abandoning it to build something more exciting. And let’s face it: many people choose this route not because it’s exciting for them to build, but because all they’ve learned to build is the ground floor.
It’s a childish pattern: children destroy sand castles to build them over and over again (because they never want to leave the beach). They take their LEGO houses apart only to build them again (because they never want to stop playing).
Even if taking things apart is your best skill, you can choose to learn to build things that you will not want to destroy. You’ll want to learn to continuously and meticulously make them better.
