Science time with vegans.
I ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/577085572484743/user/100064559956924/ ) managed to get myself involved in a "discussion" with some vegans over a post showing some misleading info about eggs vs tofu which inferred that it was better than eggs. It isn't.
While you will never change a vegans mind, because they are eating this way not out of a desire for health for the most part but an ideology/religion, it is always an opportunity to showcase their derangement on nutrition to others that are open minded.
One vegan at least attempted to post some "science" but fortunately for me he isn't up to the task on my scale. He only posted news articles talking about studies and we know how the media does with spinning a narrative.
I took some time to post some actual science. Here is my response to his attempt.
If you want science I will link you to actual research papers. Not opinions from news media who can and do twist things to suit their own narrative. This is a collection of science that shows that vegan diets are not better for humans and meat is not the evil that you make it out to be. It is actually the reason we evolved to be the beings we are.

The Health Food Shoppers Study - What did the researchers find? In a 1999 analysis of the data, both vegetarians and omnivores in the health food store group lived longer than people in the general population—not surprising given their higher level of health consciousness—but there was no survival difference between vegetarians or omnivores.
The Oxford Vegetarians Study - As in the Health Food Shoppers Study, both vegetarians and health-conscious omnivores had lower risk of early death than the general population, but there was no difference in lifespan between the two groups.
EPIC-Oxford Cohort - In this study, researchers found that the risk of death for both vegetarians/vegans and omnivores was 52 percent lower than in the general population—similar to findings from the two studies above. However, there was no difference in mortality between vegetarians and omnivores.
Heidelberg Study - This study found that vegetarians had slightly higher (10 percent) total mortality than healthy omnivores. What’s more, the data suggested that non-dietary factors played a much greater role in predicting lifespan than diet
The 45 and Up Australian Study - What were the results? They found no significant difference in total mortality between vegetarians and omnivores. There was also no difference in mortality between vegetarians, pesco-vegetarians, and semi-vegetarians.
Do you know what Meta-analysis are? They are a review of many individual studies. Lets look at some of these. They carry a large amount of weight because they look at large amounts of data at one time.
The first was done in 2014. It found no difference in total mortality between vegetarians/vegans and omnivores. 8 studies reviewed with 183,000 participants.
