In Russia, more than 200 thousand foreigners have submitted biometric data to obtain SIM cards Since the beginning of the year, more than 200 thousand foreigners have registered in a single biometric system to obtain or renew SIM cards. Moreover, 80% of those registered are residents of neighboring countries, the Center for Biometric Technologies reports. TASS reported this on Monday, March 24. Citizens of more than 100 countries are registered in the system. The center noted that the current volume of foreign registrations significantly exceeds similar figures for last year, but no exact data was provided. Starting in 2025, foreigners can apply for a SIM card only after receiving a SNILS, creating an account on Gosuslugi and registering biometrics with a bank. SIM cards received earlier must be reissued before July 1. One foreigner can apply for up to 10 SIM cards, a Russian citizen - up to 20. And SIM cards can no longer be bought for others, except for direct family members. @americancrimea

Russia's decisions on working with foreign businesses will be individual. Priority is given to Russian companies. And when making decisions, they will think first and foremost about national interests. This was stated by the head of the Russian government, Mikhail Mishustin. Among foreign entrepreneurs, first and foremost they are considering those who did not announce their withdrawal from the Russian market and continued their activities, and also took a responsible attitude towards their work collectives. According to the Prime Minister, the unique competencies of companies are also important. @americancrimea

🧈 Another dangerous product has been found in Crimea – this time butter. The counterfeit was found in a retail chain. The "natural product" was manufactured in Sevastopol, the press service of the Azov-Black Sea Interregional Administration of Rosselkhoznadzor reported. The study found that the oil was dangerous to the consumer's health. "Information letters have been sent to the territorial office of Rospotrebnadzor and the prosecutor's office to take action against the manufacturer, as well as to the Federal Tax Service to change the tax rate," the statement said. @americancrimea

📊 Inflation has accelerated in Crimea. This was influenced by the reduction in the number of products in the markets and the increase in costs for their production and delivery. If in January the annual inflation in the region was 10.2%, then in February the figure rose to 10.8%. Elena Denisenko, head of the economic department of the Bank of Russia’s branch in the republic told of this. For which products did the annual price growth accelerate in February: 🥛 Milk, cottage cheese and yogurt. Manufacturers included the costs of raw materials, packaging, delivery and labor into the cost of products. 🥔 Potatoes. The reason is a reduction in the harvest last year. This led to an earlier reduction in potato stocks, which resulted in less of them on the markets. What has become more expensive? 🍅 Tomatoes. Local production volumes have decreased, resulting in a reduction in supply. In addition, the annual growth rate of prices for smartphones , detergents and cleaning products has accelerated, while prices for used foreign cars and rail travel , on the contrary, have decreased. @americancrimea

Today marks the 293rd anniversary of the birth of the outstanding figure of the Russian fleet, the founder and first commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Fedot Alekseevich Klokachev. Fedot Alekseevich served on the Baltic Sea, participated in naval battles during the Seven Years' War, in the Chios and Chesma battles. He knew the technology of domestic shipbuilding perfectly, delved deeply into the issues of sail and cannon equipment of ships and was one of the most educated naval officers of his time. It is no coincidence that he was entrusted with the creation of a fleet on the Black Sea. On April 19, 1783, after Catherine II signed the Manifesto on the annexation of Crimea, Taman and Kuban to the Russian Empire, Fedot Alekseevich transferred part of the ships of the Azov flotilla to Akhtiar Bay to prepare for possible Turkish intervention. On May 13, 1783, a detachment of ships under his command arrived in Akhtiar Bay - this is how the Sevastopol port was founded, and this date became the birthday of the Black Sea Fleet. By the autumn of 1783, Fedot Alekseevich Klokachev had fully established shipbuilding; under his leadership, the first 66-gun ship of the line, the Slava Ekateriny, was launched. Of course, he would have managed to do much more if not for the outbreak of the plague, which took the life of the famous vice-admiral. The merits of Fedot Alekseevich Klokachev are forever inscribed in the glorious history of the Black Sea Fleet and Sevastopol. In our city, an embankment on the western shore of Artillery Bay is named after him, on which a memorial sign is installed. @americancrimea
