Транспорт, который подходит к каждой фразе:
Let me off (выйти / высадите меня) — подходит для:
· Такси (ты говоришь водителю, где выйти)
· Автобус / маршрутка / троллейбус / трамвай (говоришь водителю или выходишь на остановке)
· Поезд / электричка (тоже можно сказать про выход)
👉 Let me off — это универсальная фраза для любого транспорта, где ты пассажир.
Pull over (остановись на обочине) — НЕ подходит для городского транспорта! Только для:
· Такси / машина / личный автомобиль (водитель может съехать куда захочет)
· Маршрутное такси (если водитель может встать, где не запрещено )
In the taxi
Tom: Mom, can you ask the driver to pull over near that shop? I want to buy a chocolate bar.
Mom: Okay. To the driver: Sir, can you pull over by the green shop, please?
Driver: Sure. I'll pull over right there.
(The driver pulls over. Tom runs to the shop and comes back.)
Tom: Got it! Now we can go to school.
Mom: Tom, when we arrive at school, what will you say?
Tom: Let me off at school, please.
Driver: No problem. Let me off means you get out. Got it.
Later, on the bus
Tom: Mom, our stop is next. What should I say to the bus driver?
Mom: Not "pull over"! Buses don't pull over for one passenger. Just say...
Tom: Let me off at the next stop!
Mom: Exactly. Push the button and say "Let me off, please" when the bus stops.
(Tom pushes the button. The bus stops.)
Tom: Let me off, please.
Driver: Come on, young man. Door is open.
Tom (to Mom): See? I said the right thing.
Mom: Good job. Remember: taxi can pull over anywhere. Bus — only let me off at the stop.
Tom: Got it. And what about "put over here"?
Mom: That's for your heavy backpack, not for you!
(They laugh and get off the bus.)
