This May, I started using Duolingo to refresh some Hebrew. A month before that, I’d bought a self-study book which I found useless as it was 99% in Russian. How can you learn to read in a foreign language by looking at Russian letters? As a teacher, I don’t get this approach. The idea of learning Hebrew again has been in my head for years. Usual excuses: no time, no energy, no real reason. But then I realised that some of my students can speak other languages besides English - and I don’t.That’s where my motivation came from. #thoughts P.S. Duolingo doesn’t teach you. It gives you an opportunity to practise grammar and vocabulary. It means you first need to learn them 😊
