“Our bodies change our minds

… and our minds change our behavior

… and our behavior changes our outcomes”

Amy Cuddy 2012

Body language affects the way other people see us, but it can also change the way we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how adopting strong postures such as confident postures even in situations where we don't feel confident affects testosterone and cortisol levels in the blood and increases our chances of success.

In her 20-minute speech, Amy Cuddy talks about the qualities a person needs to possess in order to attract other people to him or her. What's more, it should be vividly expressed in the present moment: passionate, confident, authentic, captivating, enthusiastic, comfortable. However, for the average person with their own thoughts and feelings, fears and worries, it is quite difficult to show this state of mind. Therefore, Amy suggests trying a 2-minute exercise on changing the pose to a power pose. I really liked her words "fake it 'til you become it". She claims that "tiny tweaks can lead to BiG CHANGES".

I once loved a social video where a man with an unconventional appearance worked in an ordinary company and gradually won the love of a colleague. The protagonist of the story has quite typical behaviour and it is easy to imagine him as a teacher in a school, but as a freak he would be called by the students. The reason for this attitude lies in his desire to hide, to hide his face, which does not fit the standards. And all his gestures express insecurity. This continues until he finds the strength to rush to the defence of his colleague and then his posture, his demeanour, changes. He begins to behave like a master of the situation.

The teacher is not only a mediator, a facilitator and a philosopher, he or she provides a vision of the image that the student wants or does not want to conform to. If the teacher demonstrates strength, wisdom and self-confidence, the students spontaneously follow and imitate him or her.

Another way of establishing relationships with parents and students is to have your face revealed (Higgs, Crystal. 2013. p 34). Certainly being completely honest with oneself is a difficult challenge for anyone. It is often necessary to ask oneself who this person is in the mirror image, what he or she intends to do, what their plans for the future are and what their philosophy of life is. I often look at myself through the mirror of my reality with full confidence that this reflection, this person can change if necessary.

It is my willingness to learn and learn new things, to accept criticism and try to create a positive atmosphere around me and in communication that makes me feel the tension drop and the desire to share and trust grow. This is how you can create relationships in which you enjoy spending time, gaining new knowledge, sharing new ideas and solving difficult problems.
