Кто там живёт -
Они - "Фермеры" -
"Пашут" ли они -
Знают ли, что это - "Амхерст" -
И что я - приду -

Туфли "новые" - в "Эдеме" -
Там - приятно ли -
Заскучаем коль по дому -
Не ругают ли -
Или сообщают Богу -
Что мы очень злы -

Думаешь, такая личность,
Как "Отец", есть - в небесах -
Если я - там - потеряюсь -
Иль "умру", как говорят,
Босиком - ходить не буду -
Чтоб не зубоскалили -
Может - "Рай" - всё ж оживлённей
Нашей Новой Англии!
