1. Get a jump on - you tell somebody to get a jump (move) on when you want them to hurry (торопиться)
Examples: I want to get a jump on my Christmas shopping.

2. Tenacity - the quality of not giving up something easily; the quality of being determined (упорство)
Examples: Every time I face problems, I remember that success comes with tenacity.

3. Verve - energy, excitement or enthusiasm (воодушевление, вдохновение)
Examples: The Jazz quartet played with verve.
People are on the streets calling for change with a verve and tenacity we have not seen for a generation.
4. Piling on – to put things one on top of another; to form a pile (наваливаться, накапливая, сгущать краски)
Examples: But your confession was just piling on.
Don't believe everything he says, he's probably piling it on as usual.
5. Nonplussed - surprised and confused so that you do not know what to do or say (в замешательстве)
Examples: Branson seemed a little nonplussed at Ellie’s refusal.
Perhaps for the first time in his career Sir James looked nonplussed.
6. Hassle - a situation that is annoying because it involves doing something difficult or complicated that needs a lot of effort (хлопоты, трудности)
Examples: Send them an email—it's a lot less hassle than phoning.
Getting a ticket is a big hassle.
7. Preconceived beliefs - formed before you have enough information or experience of something (предубеждения)
Examples: My experimental approach is quite foreign to their mentality and preconceived beliefs.
Preconceived opinions and beliefs always stand in the way of true wisdom.
8. Own expense - your money that you spend on something without any help or support from others. (за свой счет)
Examples: I'm going do you a favor, at my own expense.
9. Pull the strings - to use your influence in order to get an advantage for somebody (дергать за ниточки)
Examples: You won't stop it by neutralizing those who pull the strings.
10. Win somebody around/over (to something) - to get somebody to change their opinion about something and give you their support and approval (переубедить, завоевать)
Examples: She's against the idea but I'm sure I can win her over.
If you buy a new one, it takes time to win over the customers.
11. Tidbit - a small special piece of food; interesting fact or detail (лакомый кусочек)
Examples: I just heard a juicy tidbit about your brother.
Here are some tidbits that aren't quite so well known about the location.
12. Topple - to become unsteady and fall down; to make something do this (свергнуть, сбросить)
Examples: They do not topple governments or even weaken them.
13. Coup détat (фр.) – French expression often used in English language, a sudden change of government that is illegal and often violent (государственный переворот)
Examples: President made all the conclusions after the failed coup d'état.
