6. Gushy - Marked by excessive displays of sentiment or enthusiasm. (трогательный)

8. Clean slate (sheet) - a record of your work or behavior that does not show any mistakes or bad things that you have done (чистый лист)
Examples: Despite the difficult situation, she resigned and was able to start a life of affliction with a clean slate.
No government operates with a completely clean sheet.
9. Bait - a person or thing that is used to attract somebody in order to catch them or make them do what you want (наживка)
Examples: The police used him as bait to trap the killers.
10. High-profile cases - receiving or involving a lot of attention and discussion in the media (резонансные дела)
Examples: A few high-profile cases can illustrate the systemic barriers to legal this in practice.

17. Instance - a particular example or case of something (случай, экземпляр)
Examples: There are still countless instances of women being paid less for doing the same work as men.
