В каждой стране, в каждой культуре есть художник, который работает с натуральным деревом, и под его резцом оно обретает качество фантастической скульптуры. Дерево считается одним из традиционных материалов, но сколько существует пород дерева, техник работы с деревом, насколько разные сами деревья. Это делает дерево материалом идущим в ногу со временем - наукой и искусством. У художников работающих с деревом есть общие черты - они работают со старыми упавшими деревьями (им может быть сто, двести и более лет) или теми деревьями, которые пришлось спилить из-за болезни или повреждения. Художники чаще всего используют традиционные для их страны и культуры техники обработки, техники, конечно, отличные друг от друга. Но каждый видит в материале дерева абсолютно разные образы, тяготеет к разной графике и выражает разные взгляды. Это делает их работы отличными друг от друга. Естественно все эти работы выполняются в единственном экземпляре потому что не существует двух одинаковых деревьев, что подчеркивает уникальность творений природы и человека. Дэвид Нэш начал создавать свои скульптуры и картины с 1973 года. Самая низкая цена на его небольшое произведение будет составлять 15 000 $. Приведенные в статье работы бОльшего размера имеют бОльшую стоимость.
