METHODS OF STRESS MANAGEMENT

Abstract: this article is structured on the study of emotional intelligence and the identification of methods of stress management. Analyzing the complexity of reactions identified by the confrontation of psychological defenses to a stressful shock, the relationship between emotional intelligence and situational anxiety is built. The practical significance of the work is emphasized by the identification of methods for optimizing the psychological state, because of which it is possible to confirm the hypothesis put forward about the effectiveness of using some methods that act as a personal resource in confronting the current situation

The life and activity of a person in the socio-economic and industrial conditions of modern society is inextricably linked with the impact of unfavorable environmental, social, professional and other factors on him, which is accompanied by the emergence, development negative emotions, strong feelings, as well as overstrain of physical and mental functions. The most characteristic mental state developing under the influence of extreme living conditions is stress. The problem of stress is a scientific problem, the solution of which in recent years has focused the efforts of scientists of different specialties and directions.
Stress (from the English stress – load, pressure, and tension) is a non–specific (general) reaction of the body to an impact (physical or psychological) that violates its homeostasis, as well as the corresponding state of the nervous system of the body (or the body as a whole.)
This definition reflects the fact that the body reacts to every requirement of the environment with a special tension. Stress is perceived by what is happening and occurs at the moment of the strongest reaction, getting out of control. The problem of stress is that such a manifestation can be expressed in an extraordinary, restrained way or not at all. At the same time, stress is one of the most common causes of distress, suffering and failure of any person, because the modern lifestyle is a constant rush, nerves, emotions.
The most effective means of state management are various methods of optimizing the mental state.
There are many methods of correction of psycho-emotional stress and the task is to choose those that would meet on the one hand the individual characteristics of a particular person, and on the other – the real conditions existing in a given place and at a given time
Physical methods of stress reduction.
Bath, sauna are excellent anti-stress methods. Sunbathing in reasonable doses also has a beneficial effect on the nervous system, mental and physical health.
Biochemical methods of stress reduction include the use of pharmacological drugs, medicinal plants, and aromatherapy. The most well-known proven, soothing properties are the smells of valerian, lavender, melissa, ylang-ylang, neroli. When using aromatherapy, it is necessary to take into account the individual intolerance of aromas.
Physiological methods of stress regulation have an impact on the cardiovascular system, respiratory and muscular systems. They include massage, acupuncture, physical exercises, muscle relaxation, breathing techniques. Regular physical education classes should correspond to age, sexual characteristics, temperament, and time of year.
Consider psychological methods of stress prevention.
The most popular of them are Auto-training, Relaxation, Visualization, and more and more people of the modern era are using Meditation, Concentration and Breathing Techniques. Art and a variety of palettes can also be a kind of therapy against stress and nervous tension, for example, Art therapy or Color therapy. Numerous sets of exercises for self-regulation, articles, audio and video courses aimed at learning the basics of Positive thinking, and Rational psychotherapy are the most well-known methods of reducing stress levels.
The study of the basics of mental self-regulation turns out to be a regulatory development of oneself. Psychic self-regulation is a feeling of genuine freedom from external restrictions and a feeling of great opportunity to solve any of the problems that arise on the path of life. He begins to understand that from now on, thanks to his ability to self-regulate, any external resource can be optimally used to achieve his own personal goals.
