What makes a good advert?

Nowadays, adverts are no longer purely informative and focused on a product. Many of the adverts that we see today are short stories telling inspirational tales. So, companies are searching for ways to make their adverts more influenceable for people. There are several things that are vital to consider. First of all, an advert has to be attention-grabbing and powerful. I guess that every advert needs a strong image to motivate and persuade people to buy some products. That is why many advertising companies use the AIDA formula. A is for attention. I is for interest. D is for desire and A is for action. Also, it is necessary for adverts to be witty, humorous and sophisticated because people do not want to remember that life can be dull, they do not like adverts that reflect everyday life. Original and in some cases exotic advert can help to increase the number of customers. It is undeniable, that having a good logo is also really important. A clear symbol that people immediately identify with the company is a significant part of success.

As for me, the most memorable and eye-catching adverts are for Chanel perfumes. I think it is because they are always enjoyable and imaginative commercials which are visually beautiful and often set in romantic or exotic locations. Also, they invite celebrities to endorse their products. For example Nicole Kidman for Chanel number 5. This advert is just like a short film or a trailer, which tells us about a famous model and her lover who does not know anything about her. I saw this advert by chance when I was 10, and now when I see Nicole Kidman in films I always think about this extremely beautiful advert for Chanel number 5.
