The European air traffic safety organization Eurocontrol shared negative statistics for 2022.

In total, hundreds of thousands of flights to the EU were canceled throughout the year, with approximately 2,000 flights canceled on average daily throughout the year. In the summer of 2022, half of all flight departures in Europe were delayed.
During the year, only two-thirds of flights departed on time, well below the 2019 average of 73%. During the summer, dispatch punctuality dropped below 50% in early July and continued to fluctuate between 50% and 60% for most of the summer.
Of course, not all European countries and airports were the same.
Airports: the worst of all
Lisbon and Frankfurt showed the lowest departure rates. A little more than half (54%) of flights departed from Lisbon airport on time, from Frankfurt - 56%.
In third place for non-punctuality was the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, which suffered from summer strikes, where only 56.8% of aircraft took off on time.
London's Gatwick Airport came in fourth place with 57.5% of flights departing on time.

Airports: the best of all
At the other end of the ranking are
Oslo and Madrid. They top the list for both arrival punctuality and departure punctuality. 81% of flights departed on time from Madrid Barajas Airport, and 77.2% from Oslo.

By country
The
UK and Spain together accounted for just 12% of the total air traffic control delays.

Germany accounted for nearly a third of all delays (30%) and France for 21%.

In Germany, the problems were mainly related to the lousy work in the air traffic control area in Karlsruhe (why?!), where delays increased by 165% compared to 2019.

Total.
Of course, these statistics did not include flights canceled due to mutual sanctions and the closure of airspace between the Russian Federation and the EU. They would make the statistics even sadder.
