Your child should know what to do if they get lost so it is important to teach them the basic rules.
Play a game with your child, depicting different situations, for example, you ended up in a crowd together, came to a shopping center, are at an airport, at a train station, in a park, on the street, in another city, in nature.
Explain the key rule: the child is waiting, and the parent is looking for them.
Make them remember the people they can come up to and ask for help: a policeman, a cashier, or a woman with a child.
Learn your phone numbers and the phrase: "I'm lost, please call my mom!".
Tell them not to leave with strangers or get into their car, and explain that it is better to try and get home or go look for their parents on their own.
Agree with them on a place where you will meet if you get lost. Make it a rule to always call each other and tell where you are and with whom, and every time you go out and come back.
