I don't think you need to improve your leisure time efficiency, but you can improve your computer efficiency in a very simple way. I decided to choose from a bunch of tips for just five. Don't hesitate - they are the most effective!
The main problem with working at the computer and intellectual work in general is easy distractions. Our brain, as a "woman of easy behavior" - where she will be lured, where he went. And if a trouble is still lured or a burning topic, then do not keep at all. So you need to use all possible and impossible techniques to reduce the possibility of distractions to a minimum. And this can only be done, as in the Russian proverb, - on the roots.
1. If you sit at your computer to perform a task, if possible, eliminate external distractions. First, it is the phone, TV, radio. Any music is distracting (how to use it correctly, read below). Turn off anything that distracts you with sound. Turn on the answering machine on your phone. Of course, it's hard to do it at work, but if you work at home or for yourself, you can do it. What's most interesting is that if you don't get distracted, you can get into a state of flow that will fill you with energy and happiness for the whole day. With constant distractions, on the contrary, increases irritability. To get rid of its consequences, you will also have to spend precious energy. In order not to distract you people, put a sign "I'll get rid of so much ..." or "Who leaves my mother alone, will get a candy":) Think of your own original and effective way.
2.Now let's talk about distractions inside the computer. These are the Internet, notification agents, e-mail, social networks, blogs about happiness:) etc. I will not tell you to give up on them. Not at all! They can be used wisely - for charging (see below). And in the beginning of work on them it is necessary to limit time on them. After all, this is the biggest devouring of our attention, I'm not talking about time. Attention is even more important than time, because attention is our energy, which we give away. And usually we give the best energy to the things that are not our main tasks. We watched all sorts of news and reports in the morning, and all the laws of efficiency require that we pause. And we can't pause, because our conscience says that we have to take up the task. Therefore, the pause is postponed, we begin to get tired, the efficiency is reduced. And at the end of the day, we are lying on our feet from fatigue, although in the evening we could still work hard. What can we do about it? We need to set a timer. You spend 15 minutes in the mail and networks, turning off all the sirens, all the networks and mail, and then you start working. And then, when you need to recharge (at the beginning of any task), go back to your favorite blog or mail.
3. Put a work plan in front of you to keep your focus. This will focus your thoughts on what needs to be done. It is very useful to use such a plan when working with the Internet. My planner, for example, has a separate section on the Internet. When I go online (sometimes I just want to go for a walk there, like in the street:), I look first in my section. And there is a lot of interesting and necessary tasks: to look at the prices of cars, order my husband pants from the rain, etc. While doing this, the desire to walk on the Internet passes:)
4. It is necessary to work rhythmically. Rhythmic is the basis of energy. It is very simple. Again, take a timer or alarm clock and start it for 50 minutes. You can do a little less, you can do more. See for yourself how much time you can work without feeling tired. The maximum is 90 minutes. After that, you need to pause. And in this pause you need to distract yourself from the computer: get up, stretch, do exercises for the neck. If you do not do this, fatigue will accumulate and your productivity will decrease. Ventilate the room at this time. You can eat something, drink water (by the way, I wrote here about how much water you need to drink). You can recharge yourself emotionally by talking to a nice person. These are the little things that we don't pay attention to, but that "make our day" in the end.
