The sports facilities are the main protagonists of a new season of investment in Emilia Romagna. The region promotes physical activity for health. And the sense of community aggregation.
The sports facilities are the master of the maxi-operation to renew the sports heritage of Emilia-Romagna, started by the Region in 2018. The Council, led by President Stefano Bonaccini, has allocated another 8.6 million euros, included in the budget 2019 and multi-year 2019-2021. This has allowed the realization of further 39 projects of enlargement, improvement or realization of new structures in the territories, dedicated to the motor activity in general. Playgrounds, buildings, multipurpose spaces, swimming pools, gyms, schools and others, will be funded in a project that redevelop sports and sports facilities as a stimulus to health and the sense of aggregation.
Sports facilities: engine of physical and social well-being
The sports facilities are experiencing a further injection of resources, in addition to the 30 million euros that last July had allowed the regional executive to finance 97 projects. With these additional funds, already allocated and therefore available, it was possible to scroll through the ranking of the call. This has brought to 136 the projects supported by the Region, for interventions in as many municipalities in all provinces, from Piacenza to Rimini. The regional contribution covers 50% of the eligible expenditure. But for municipalities in mountainous areas and inland areas, it amounts to 70%.
During 2019, the Region will be committed to strengthening cooperation with schools, federations, companies, operators and local authorities. The aim is to obtain sports facilities capable of covering the relevant areas.
President Bonaccini also announced the confirmation this year of the funds for calls for proposals to support sports events and projects to raise awareness of motor and sports practice, with a budget of 2.7 million euros.
Sports facilities: major sporting events in 2019
The sports facilities will see in 2019 an important year also for the promotion of major events, which are also strategic tools for the enhancement of the territories and tourist attraction. Among these are: the European Under-21 Football Championship, with matches to be played in Reggio Emilia, Bologna, Cesena and the Republic of Titan; the final four of the Spring Football Championship (Reggio Emilia); the Beach volleyball World League (Cervia-Pinarella) and Iron Man (Cervia), the final four of the Italian Men's Volleyball Cup (Bologna) and the Italian Athletics Championship cadets (Forlì).
