They help us to manage our conscience and to relate to others. Thoughts allow us to reflect, to make decisions, to behave. Thought represents the summary of our character, of our personality. The problem arises when our actions are obsessively conditioned by our way of thinking. The toxic ones, the ones that make us make mistakes. The same ones that make us make bad decisions. The thoughts that hold us back, that manipulate us, that prop us up like a woodworm. Those who in the most serious cases change the perception of ourselves and society. Obsessive thoughts can reduce us to slaves of a society that is not to blame. We become anxious, tired, emotionally unable to relate. It becomes a nightmare.

Thoughts that become an obsession.

Maybe I should have worn a long skirt! Did I close the front door? I turned off the gas. Here, imagine a person obsessed with similar thoughts all day long. At work, at dinner out, at the disco, while he's taking a walk. As silly as they may seem, you have to focus on the problem. Thinking obsessively when it's not necessary. Because understanding the problem is the first step in managing repetitive thoughts and returning to a serene life.

Thinking, the body gets tired.

Obsession in the most serious cases is a psychological state that recalls the most classic of obsessive-compulsive disorders, defined by experts also fixation or persistent concern. It consists of a fixed idea or anxious conduct that the subject cannot control even though he is aware of it. To understand, I am aware that I have turned off the light but I have to go back and check at least three times! It is a mental process that starts from the subconscious and leads us to have extreme control of everything and everyone. We can no longer understand the simplicity of events. Our judgment is altered negatively and a couple of relationships, the risk is the affective dependence.

Obsessive thoughts are mental events that follow one another repeatedly, are involuntary and focus on concerns. There is no present or future when we are bombarded with obsessive thoughts. Anxiety and stress manage our lives, influencing our behavior. In mild cases, the mental process can be partly managed. Perhaps a distraction allows us to return to reality. When the problem is more serious it becomes a full-fledged addiction.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder

Obsessive thoughts between right and wrong.

Being worried about your child's first day of school is a normal, healthy and natural thought. Thinking obsessively all day long that something bad could happen to your child is a problem. Thinking becomes pathological when we believe only what we think, without ever questioning it or listening to others.

Obsessive thoughts.

  • As we have understood, the basis of obsessive thoughts is fear, for oneself or one's loved ones. Fear, verification, and perfection are the three macro arias of the problem.
  • Fear prevents us from doing things: when obsessive thinking takes over our minds, it captures our souls. We are afraid to perform the simplest actions. touching objects, leaving the house, taking the car. The everyday life of the days becomes a continuous struggle against our ghosts.
  • Checking something several times to feel relieved and safe: this is one of the most frustrating aspects. Difficult for "normal" people to understand. Typical of compulsive disorder. Let's get out of the house, it seems all right. After two steps we go back and check again until our brain is satisfied and accepts that everything is okay. A condition that worsens anxiety and stress and creates insecurities
  • Everything perfect: Do thoughts obsess over your fitness? A condition that forces you to spend whole days in the gym trying to find perfection. You move away from affections and true perfection, living life!

Getting out of the prison created by obsessive thoughts.

  • In its most serious form, the problem must be addressed with specific medical therapies. In our case, we deal with the subject in its superficial nuances. In this case, overcoming the problem becomes easier.
  • We should not try to turn away obsessive thoughts when they arise. One should deal with them rationally, or they will be strengthened and create anxiety. Have you left the house certain that you have turned off the light? Does an inner force force force you to turn back? Well. Stop, breath, do not act instinctively and you will see how by relaxing you will never go back. You just told your brain, I'm right, the light is off!
  • Does a thought torment you? Don't worry, start talking loudly, maybe hum. You force your brain to understand that you are the one who manages it and not the other way around. In this way, you are managing your obsessions and sooner or later they will let go.

Let the obsession win! If you don't pass three times on the manhole they steal your car? Okay, buy a new one! Here, this is the concept of acceptance of toxic thinking. By associating these rules with relaxing activities in a short time you will have control of your mind.
