Today I want to talk to you about enemy number one of all women:
cellulite
All women have to do with her. No one is excluded, whether you are tall, short, thin or overweight, you will surely have had to deal with her.
Have you ever asked for advice from doctors or personal trainers and the answer has always been "drink a lot and move more"?
Ok they are not wrong but the question is not so simple.
What is cellulite?
Over the centuries the female body has learned to accumulate fat in the lower part of the body.
It does not do this to do you wrong but to create reserves (triglycerides) for emergencies, such as pregnancy. When these deposits break (the reasons may be many: wrong physical activity, stress, smoke, etc.) the content is poured into the surrounding space, creating a malfunction of the microcirculation and the annoying and unsightly pads that all women hate.
The triggers of cellulite are:
- Sedentary life
- Wrong physical activity
- Excessive consumption of dairy products
- Smoking
- Stress
- Consumption of junk food (fast food, snacks, snacks, etc.)
- Consumption of packaged products (e.g. sliced meats and cold cuts)
- Drink too much water (yes, you read well!)
- Excess caffeine
Running and walking like anti-cellulite?
Let's start by saying that if the best sport you practice is a squat to sit on the couch, the road is long. If you fall into this category, however, whatever activity you choose to do is already a start.
I used to tell you that cellulite is caused by a stagnation of extracellular liquids and alterations in the microcirculation.
For this reason I would advise against running: when you run you create an impact on the ground that, in addition to damaging the joints if you are not prepared, will worsen cellulite.
If you like to stay in the open air and walk, the walk is definitely for you. Obviously it must be done with criteria, keep a good pace but with a low-medium heart rate for about 40′. In this way the "clogged" tissues will be oxygenated and you will notice improvements.
High intensity training
Maybe reading the previous paragraph you'd have thought, "Well, but I like running, spinning, etc. and I want to prepare for a race.
Surely if you run normally (or you want to start running) you will have results with regard to weight loss... but cellulite?
Always there! With these types of sports, the best solution is to devote oneself to the fatigue. Once the race is over, don't stop (we don't create stagnation) but keep walking for 10 minutes.
Remember that you must never stress the body, accustomed to training and teach him above all to recover calmly.
When the walk is over, lie down and lift your legs, we must drain well the liquids accumulated with the training. An excellent solution is to pass cold water on the legs, in this way the body temperature will decrease and the circulation will normalize more easily.
Is water your element?
If you love water, you're on horseback. Swimming pools today offer a variety of activities: water gym, hydro bike... Water prevents the impact with the ground from causing microlesions to the capillaries that would affect the circulation.
Water aerobics session
In addition, the movement produces a leg massage that helps the physiological drainage of liquids. So, if you love group courses or individual sessions in water, what are you waiting for? Take a dive!
Magic Potions
"I bought a $60 cream that makes cellulite go away." Please...
These products make only the companies that produce them happy. The only improvement they can give is due to the massage you make on the area at the time of application. It goes without saying that combining a draining massage with moderate physical activity is a good idea instead.
H2O
You drink a lot to fight cellulite. But remember not to exaggerate
When the body works well and eliminates all the waste, there is no danger that the fatty tissues could alter and "transform" into cellulite.
Once it has formed, however, detoxifying the body becomes essential and therefore the kidneys, intestine and skin must be in perfect condition.
For this reason, I recommend drinking at least 7/8 glasses of water a day between meals.
You have no idea how many women don't drink water at all. If you're not used to it, start with one glass a day, then two and so on...
Remember, your body needs to get used to it. You should never flood it.
Be careful, then, of the camel effect: I remind you that your objective is to drain the liquids and avoid their accumulation. An immoderate amount of water all together would accumulate in the extracellular matrix with consequent water retention.
In summary
- Cellulite is a symptom that you have poor circulation and that, most likely, you have to disint yourself with it.
