Every journey starts with a plan. A journey requires consistency and regularity, a plan and knowledge of where you are going. The subject matter of working with the body and the market promoting physical activity fills the slogans of advertisements, fitness club websites and the whole Internet. T
Today it is not difficult to find something for oneself. Phrases "Functional training", "crossfit", "the best exercise for...", "how to lose weight ... kilograms", "how to carve...", "pain in the knee area", etc. are among the most frequently searched phrases, entered by people following the health trend and seeking knowledge. The last topics concern the zone of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, the first ones concern training.
Sculpted, athletic bodies of trainers/instructors encourage consumers, but working with the body is not fun. Working with the body is a responsible process for which responsibility is fully taken.
All these aspects are, however, the journey we wrote about in the introduction. You want this journey to be safe. I invite you to read it!
What distinguishes a comprehensive approach to the body through the eye of a physiotherapist, I would say a physiotherapist, is the foundation of movement. Biomechanical knowledge, kinesiology, balance of musculoskeletal tensions and the overriding goal, i.e. a pro-health approach to working with the body, which is to be a machine serving not for summer but for years, brings to order.
Regardless of whether you run, choose a bike, fitness, crossfit, functional training, your body reacts like a sponge. Adaptability of the body in the process of progressive compensation is limited, and with age it decreases. Each organism, just like the glass, has its own limited volume, i.e. the threshold of overload adaptation. If you pour too much water into a vessel, it is logical that it will overflow. Adequate situation is with the body.
BIOKINEMATIC CHAIN
By definition, a biokinetic chain is a part of a movement mechanism, consisting of several segments connected with each other, forming one or more kinematic pairs. Incomprehensible, pure theory? So what is this often used professional phrase in the world of training and physiotherapy?
The laws of biomechanics, like all other laws, have one thing in common - they are indisputable. On the way of overloading (not only training but also everyday life) compensations are created, thanks to which the body defends itself against damage to the structure and serious injury that excludes it from physical activity for a longer period of time.
It is worth noting that the first painful ailments of the knees, lumbar section of the spine or shoulder are signals that give our body suggesting overloading.
The best way to get rid of the problem quickly is to identify the problem early and to remove the abnormalities in the process of functional diagnostics. Unfortunately, many people underestimate the problem and ignore the chance to quickly get rid of the problem, which is given by our body.
It is worth noting that the reported place of pain is an active centre of perception, located in the weakest part of the global whole. The cause of the pain may lie deeper, and certainly in a different place than the one indicated by the patient. William James's words that the chain is as strong as its weakest link can be perfectly applied to the human body in the context of physiotherapy and training. The segmentary connections of the body (ankle, knee, hip, lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine) are the links in the chain that form the locomotive system.
Open kinetic chain is a chain in which the final link is free and connects to only one adjacent link. These are exercises of isolated muscle parts in isolated motion, e.g. bending arms with barbells, straightening legs on a machine, squeezing barbells over the head while standing.
Biokinetic chain - dynamic control
Any injury or injury treated surgically improves the mechanical stabilization of the joint by allowing it to perform a specific function. Dynamic control of the entire kinematic chain is a process that requires the activation not only of the treated segment, but also of other parts integrated with it to form a whole (biokinetic chain).
Being in full strength, it is worth exercising in a state of standing, single leg, and anti-rotation by forcing the muscles stabilizing the lumbar-pelvic-hip complex to work. Exercises isolated in open biokinematic chains are recommended for restoring the deficiencies of the foundation of the force that is necessary to shape the power and global integrated patterns of movement very often in closed biokinematic chains.
