Hello, dear nutrition-conscious person,
Today it is about a very important topic, namely sweets that are made or advertised specifically for children.
Usually, too little attention is paid to it (as it is often difficult to control), what and how much our children really take sweets a day and much worse - by the way - to themselves.
And I have some very interesting information for you:
Fruit Gnomes: 13g sugar / 100g - 1 cup (50g) = 1.5 pcs. Sugar cubes
Milk slices: 29.5g sugar / 100g - 1 piece (28g) = 2 pieces of sugar cubes
Children's Bars: 53.3g sugar / 100g - 1 bar (21g) = 2 3/4 pcs. Sugar cubes
Laughing gum: 52.1g sugar / 100g - 1 serving (20g) = 2.5 pcs. Sugar cubes
Children chocolate biscuits: 52g sugar / 100g - 1 piece (5.8g) = 3/4 pieces of sugar cubes
Milky Way: 65.1g sugar / 100g - 1 bar (21.5g) = 3.5 pcs. Sugar cubes
1 piece of sugar cubes equals 4g
In the picture you can see sweets, especially for children. In addition, I put the respective number of sugar cubes, which PRO candy or portion are included!
Actually scary that the sale of such products is geared towards children! It is often even conveyed by the advertising, how "healthy" and "valuable" these sweets are for your child! The kids watch TV at home, maybe even on the side, and already they want to have it on their next purchase. The industry is also pretty pinched, the products are indeed so beautiful colorful and funny packed, so that the (poor) children even more to address. And if the products were not so extremely sweet, they probably would not want to have them so much ... Add to this, that such "children's products" are always down in the lower rows of shops, so the little ones can not overlook anything ...
Therefore, be sure to control what your child eats throughout the day as much as possible.
Sweets - yes, this includes a fruit yoghurt, because fruits are there very little in there, the taste it gets from sugar - should really only be eaten in small quantities from time to time and then also consciously and not just by the way. Maybe you have to take it yourself, because of course, the children are a lot different from their parents. Regulated mealtimes, if possible sitting together at the table, are of particular importance not only for our little contemporaries.
Of course, offer your child sweet alternatives:
- A piece of fruit with nuts, yoghurt or cheese (but be sure to use activated nuts )
- Homemade compote with nuts or seeds and a dollop of whipped cream
- Homemade muesli slices or cereal slices of polenta, millet, amaranth, oatmeal, ...
- Possibly bought fruit bars, but as to the quality pay attention (organic and no sugar)
- Pancake as a snack, sweet or spicy (also gluten-free )
