Hello, friends!
Coconut oil is a particularly precious fat, and it's not only because of its heat resistance in the kitchen!
VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) is a saturated vegetable oil and it can safely be heated high, without the fatty acid composition changing negatively.
It can be used both melted for baking or in smoothies, also generally to make food a little more substantial.
It stimulates the metabolism and thus the burning of fat and serves as a good source of energy. Its medium-chain fatty acids make coconut oil a readily available source of energy for our brain.
If you use coconut oil, pay close attention to good quality.
A bioseal alone says nothing about the quality, but only that the coconut oil comes from organic farming! Neither production time nor process, nor processing or pressing temperature are certified or covered with a bio-seal.
Like any cold-pressed olive oil, VCO represents the purest form of coconut fat and is processed further after the pressing without any refining steps.
Of course, there are also industrially manufactured, cheap coconut fats that have been cured and refined in several steps. Even if they are a lot cheaper, you should keep your fingers off these products!
Incidentally, coconut oil becomes liquid at room temperature and gets stuck in the refrigerator, so it can be called both oil and fat =)
It is widely used externally: for example, as deodorant, body oil or bath additive.
What is better than a fine relaxation bath? Right now, in the cold, gloomy autumn, it's a real treat for your body and soul!
Today I would like to present you my personal "recipe" for such a bath
With an aroma bath you can make use of the many different effects of the essential oils: Stress reduction, sleep aid, relaxation, switching off from everyday life, strengthening the immune system, stimulating the circulation or simply doing something good.
Essential oils should always be carefully selected and used. Let the topic be best advised by a specialist. Citrus oils are not suitable for a bath, for example, as the acids contained in the warm bath water can dissolve and irritate the skin.
Menthol-containing oils are absolutely not suitable for a bath because they can greatly cool the skin and the body.
Also, you should pay attention to the quality of such oils, use only pure natural, genuine essential oils and no fragrance oils. Store your oils properly, preferably dark and cool, and do not use them over the expiration date.
For a flavor bath, the essential oil must always be mixed with an emulsifier . Otherwise, it would just float on the water surface and could irritate the skin. These can be fatty oils such as almond oil, olive oil, coconut oil or milk or cream. There is also the possibility of mixing the oils fat-free with brown sugar, honey or sea salt. The high-fat variety, however, is considered to be particularly skin-caring and can always be used the same - bath salts, however, should be able to pull through with the oil for a while.
Please also note the dosage of your aroma bath:
For a full bath - depending on the oil used -
1 to 10 drops of oil! On average you can with
Calculate 4 to 7 drops, but not so much with particularly strong oils.
An aroma bath lasts between 15 and a maximum of 20 minutes. And the bathwater should be around 38 ° C. This basic recommendation should already be considered, because if you bathe too hot and too long, you can unnecessarily burden your circulation. To take a relaxation bath before falling asleep, would even offer a temperature around the 36 ° C,
because warmer water improves blood circulation.
So, now for my personal recipe:
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
- about 5 drops of lavender oil
- 200 ml coconut milk or cream - optional
Mix the oils well in a cup, add coconut milk or cream as needed and mix well again. That gives an extra tender skin;)
This mixture is then added to the run-in bath water.
After bathing you have to take care that you do not slip, because of the oil the tub can become quite slippery. A creaming afterwards is not necessary and you smell fine coconut =) However, you should be careful that you do not dive with your head, this mixture is difficult to wash out of the hair again. Due to the oils, you should also wash the tub well after bathing.
Coconut oil has many uses in personal care. I like the smell and the silky skin feeling left after bathing.
Maybe you would like to try a bath with this great oil in the future? Or have you already had experience with it?
I can only recommend it anyway and I look forward to your report =)
