Speech is a kind of indicator - at the very moment when a person opens his mouth to say something, we understand where he comes from, what kind of education he has and what weight he has in society. We understand sometimes more than a person wants to show.
Those who have achieved success share some commonalities. Their words carry weight, they are listened to, they obey and they are used to it. Specialists of the Institute for Public Speaking highlighted the general characteristics of the speech of successful businessmen. Only Russian entrepreneurs from the Forbes list or with a turnover of over 1 billion were included in the sample. Politicians did not enter this list due to differences in the purpose of their speeches and excessive exaltation.
What does it mean when it comes to general characteristics?
Timbre
The more significant the person, the lower his voice and speech from this takes on special weight and influence. A person with a low voice at the level of intuition is perceived as more authoritative and confident in his words. His voice is a real instrument of influence. The first thing we hear is the lower frequencies of any sound (except for piercingly disturbing). When a car with loud music approaches, for example, the first thing that is heard from afar is the bass, and only then we catch the melody. And most of those to whom we turned our attention (92%) say "on the bottom." That is, using lowercase. The frequency of this sound, up to approximately 330 Hz, has a special mesmerizing effect. It is believed that speech and music in this range stimulate memory, tissue healing, immunity, overcomes low attention syndrome, improves understanding with active listening.
Pace and pauses
Most successful people speak slowly, slowly. As if weighing or savoring every word. Words are very accurate, there are practically no connectives, such as "as if", "type" and others. Most people are afraid of pauses during the speech, and those whom we studied do not pay attention to them, can think and then pause to talk again. Their speech is lively - it can switch to other topics, but they clearly hold the super task and always return to the main line of dialogue. Thinking during speaking is a hallmark of these people. Even if there are prepared answers, but you can hear them, then they are not shy about the fact that you can think in the process of conversation and there will be a pause. And they very accurately hear the interlocutor.
Volume
In most cases, they do not care about the volume of speech. Most often they speak rather quietly, but the auditorium is also quieted down with them. It seems that they save power on the volume of speech.

Successful people have their own point of view on any subject. They have a way to solve the problem in question. And they speak on their own behalf, without blurring the boundaries of responsibility “we”, “they”. They are not afraid to admit that they do not know something or are not completely sure of something. Ask clarifying questions.
Of course, there are exceptions to any rule. Some successful entrepreneurs do not fit into this picture. For example, Oleg Tinkov with his piercing voice and impetuous manner of speech does not fit into the above characteristics. But, as is known from the exact sciences, exceptions sometimes only confirm the rule.
What to make your words have weight?
