This is Gradara, in Italy.

At some point during my 20s, I took a decision: whenever traveling, instead of focusing on the things this or that country have in common with my home country Brazil, I decided to focus on all the cool things that this or that country has and Brazil doesn’t. I took this decision after a Brazilian colleague of mine came back from Italy and said she hated it there because she couldn’t find places offering Brazilian food.

I love the food from my country. Sometimes, I miss it when I am not in Brazil. But my colleague’s statement sounded a little shocking to me. So, basically you want to leave Brazil and fly 12 hours to get to… Brazil?

I’m actually very thankful to that colleague. It was after that conversation that I started looking at things from another perspective. A perspective, which allowed me to enjoy different cultures, experiences and tastes even more than before.
