Germany Apologises to African Union after Dig at Russian FM Germany’s Foreign Office has apologised for using a leopard emoji in a tweet, taking a jab at the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s visit to the African continent. African Union President Moussa Faki Mahamat's spokesperson responded to the German government's post, asking if Africa, its people and wildlife were "just a joke to them". "Foreign policy is not a joke and should not be used to score cheap geopolitical points," Ebba Kalondo wrote in a follow-up post.
