A new stage in aviation cooperation: Kazakhstan and Vietnam signed memorandums of understanding on airport development in two southern regions


On September 9, memorandums of understanding were signed in Astana between SOVICO Group and akimats of two regions - Turkestan and Kyzylorda regions. The purpose of this agreement is the creation and development of multimodal transportation hubs in Kazakhstan, as well as joint improvement of infrastructure and functionality of airports in the cities of Turkestan and Kyzylorda.
The memorandum signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the governments of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Vietnam, Deputy Akim of Kyzylorda region Ardak Zebeshov, Deputy Akim of Turkestan region Zulpukhar Zholdasov, delegation of SOVICO Group, representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy and Kazakh Invest JSC Ardak Kudabekov, as well as heads of local executive bodies (addendum).
The parties expressed confidence that the signing of the memorandum will become a starting point for a successful partnership that will contribute to the development of air transportation and logistics in two key regions of Kazakhstan. The cooperation is also aimed at improving transport accessibility, optimizing logistics chains and expanding opportunities for business and tourist travel.
SOVICO Group is a Vietnamese holding company founded in 1990. The Group is one of the largest diversified conglomerates in Vietnam and specializes in the energy, construction, banking and finance, and aviation sectors. SOVICO Group includes the low-cost carrier VietJet Air.
