To enhance the efficiency of railway infrastructure and increase freight wagon handling capacity, a new 1,000-meter railway branch has been constructed at Naibabad station in the shortest possible time.
The project was executed by specialists from JSC "Uzbekistan Railways" and LLC "Sogdiana Trans". This new track section will significantly boost the station’s throughput capacity and accelerate loading and unloading operations.
Against the backdrop of rapidly growing freight volumes between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, the infrastructure development of the Hairatan–Naibabad–Mazar-i-Sharif corridor is becoming vital for ensuring stable cargo flows. The timely and swift construction of the new branch has enabled efficient wagon processing, preventing downtime and avoiding cargo congestion along the route.
The coordinated efforts between JSC "Uzbekistan Railways" and LLC "Sogdiana Trans" have further solidified their positions as reliable, long-term partners within the Afghan railway sector. This project is of particular importance for ensuring the uninterrupted movement of freight cars, improving customer service quality, and further developing Naibabad station.
As freight traffic continues to rise along the Hairatan–Naibabad–Mazar-i-Sharif route, LLC "Sogdiana Trans"—within the framework of friendly cooperation between JSC "Uzbekistan Railways" and the Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan—continues to systematically modernize the corridor.
