Krasnodar, 14 April – Yug Times. Head of Adygea Murat Kumpilov has eportedly routlined plans to restore historic buildings downtown Maikop as part of a broader tourism strategy. The initiative focuses on architectural landmarks such as the Officers’ House, the Terziev Merchant House, and the former editorial offices of republican newspapers, also known as the Altshuler Pharmacy. Authorities intend to attract private investors to help return these buildings to their original appearance, following a model already used in the restoration of a historic hotel. The Terziev House is set to be renovated under a public-private partnership and reopened as a hotel, its interiors styled to reflect the early 20th century when it was first built. Mr. Kumpilov has also instructed city officials to review privately owned historic homes that are not officially listed but date back to the city’s early years.
