Greenhouse Boom Delivers Record Harvests

Krasnodar, 24 March – Yug Times. Kuban farmers have reportedly harvested more than 7,000 tonnes of greenhouse vegetables since the start of 2026 — up by 2,000 tonnes compared to the previous year. The region now operates 12 large scale greenhouse complexes covering 256 hectares, supported by 35 million roubles in state funding this year. “Expanding production is important, but so is developing processing facilities. High-quality finished products are in demand both domestically and abroad,” Governor Veniamin Kondratiev was quoted as saying. Growth has been driven by high yield crop varieties, modernised facilities and advanced agricultural technologies. Budget funding has helped equip greenhouses with systems that boost yields by around 20%. Top-producing districts this year include Dinskoi, Timashevsk and Krasnoarmeisky. Over the past decade, greenhouse output in the region has more than doubled, reaching around 110,000 tonnes annually — with tomatoes accounting for 70%, cucumbers 25%
