AI

It is difficult to pinpoint the exact date or space-time, when looking at the screen of a computer started to irritate, however only the irritable ones were the victims. When did technology turn into an element which led to a major frustration and anxiety? From one perspective, the emptiness of social values passed the point of no return, and the decay of the soul reached a critical point. (Seems a bit dark, this is most likely incorrect information). From the other, some started to think that humanity will finally have the free time to live a life of freedom, while AI and robots will do the “dirty work”. The future, 2026, the year when AI became an even greater reality, when human films, writing, poems, scripts, stories, images became indiscernible from AI’s. It is now the trend. “Artificial” engines are used to check whether someone’s work was completed by AI. This sounds ridiculous, AI checking for the presence of AI, yet this is now commonplace. Although, it has always been a tricky process to define “artificial”, and most importantly, “intelligence”. According to psychological studies, the human mind, as it grows, simply mimics knowledge, behavior, movement, by copying visual stimuli, situations and people. A child learns to smile by observing his/her parents. Speech patterns are taken from the outside world and are used in everyday life, this is how language is utilized and understood by most people equally and effectively. Some specific type of thinking, a pattern or an algorithm of one individual, could be imitated by others, resulting in similar mental processes and outcomes. Even a way of life could be simulated. AI is built in a very similar (if not the same) way—humans are the ones who created the programming, so it consists of the information collected by people. Those who were conditioned, taught by other human beings have passed their knowledge, as well as unnoticeable, unconscious character quirks to “machines”. Everything a person remembers since infancy, childhood, the imitation of parents, peers, social agents, actors on TV, cartoon characters, strangers, everyone who is seen or heard, has added to a sphere of information within the mind of a person. This learned behavior is put together, to create what is usually referred to as “personality”. As such, there is an absolute possibility that human intelligence is totally simulated or is “burned onto” the mind, in a form of a natural program, thus, artificial. This question cannot be proven or disproven; nonetheless, it is a fact that all observable phenomena are the same for human eyes and AI’s “mind”, as one is a continuation of the other. Now, it looks unclear, who is the giver and who is the receiver. That might be sad.

2026: Are people idiots? The world became a place where strangeness is the only thing that leads to more views on social networks. Images, “works of art”, videos, “deepfakes”, etc. are created by AI, by people ordering AI to do it, with seemingly no shame or limits. Who is this operator? A human being? Or is AI making people want to use it? Possibly, this could lead to the destruction of society, as individuals turn “uniqueness” into a form of separation from “true” values and goals? What are the true values of a human society? “Who knows such things, we are not oracles”…
