На связи телеграм-канал "Английский язык для поступления в Лицей ВШЭ"!
В эссе для поступления в Лицей чаще всего теряют баллы не из-за “скудного английского”, а из-за структуры: не обозначили разные точки зрения, странное введение, нет логики — и всё, оценка падает.
В этом посте даю универсальный шаблон эссе на английском для 10 класса: что писать во введении, как оформить плюсы/минусы и как нормально добавить своё мнение, чтобы это засчитали на проверке.
Абзац 1. Введение
Задача: обозначить проблему+ две позиции
1 вариант, когда topic — существительное / словосочетание:
1. Общая постановка проблемы
- Nowadays, the issue of [noun phrase] is widely discussed.
the issue of watching films in English / the issue of tourism in big cities / the issue of starting a business with a friend
2. Две точки зрения (перефраз задания)
- Some people think that [позиция 1 своими словами], while others disagree.
3. План эссе (необязательно)
- In this essay I will consider both points of view and express my own opinion.
2 Вариант, когда topic — целое предложение / идея:
Используем конструкции the idea that… / the opinion that… / the question whether…
1. Общая постановка проблемы:
- Nowadays, the idea that [full clause] is becoming very popular.
the idea that watching films in English is a good way to learn the language /
the idea that artificial intelligence has only positive implications
- Today, the question of whether [clause] causes a lot of discussion.
the question of whether people should follow in their parents’ footsteps when choosing a career
2. Две позиции:
- Some people support this opinion, while others think differently.
- Many people agree with this statement, but there are also those who disagree with it.
3. План эссе (необязательно):
- In this essay I will discuss both views and give my own opinion.
Абзац 2. Body 1 — первая точка зрения
1. Тopic sentence
- On the one hand, many people support the idea that [view 1].
2. Аргумент(ы)
- One of their main arguments is that…
- Another reason is that…
3. Пример
- For example, … / For instance, ...
Можно чередовать: many people / supporters of this view / those who agree with this opinion, а не только they или people каждый раз.
Абзац 3. Body 2 — вторая точка зрения
1. Тopic sentence
- On the other hand, a lot of people hold the opposite view.
2. Аргументы
- First, they believe that…
- In addition, it is often said that…
3. Пример
- For instance, …
Абзац 4. Заключение + личное мнение
1. Обобщение двух взглядов
- To sum up, there are strong arguments on both sides of this issue.
- Taking everything into account, we can see that both views have certain reasons behind them.
2. Личное мнение + причина
- In my opinion, I agree more with the idea that [view 1 / view 2], because…
- Personally, I find the first/second view more convincing, since…
Как подставлять topic, если это не одно слово
- Gerund / -ing форма

Пример:
Some believe that robots will eventually replace humans in all jobs. However, many people think differently. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Nowadays, the idea that intelligent machines may soon take over almost every profession is becoming very popular. Some people are sure that technology will soon be able to perform nearly all kinds of work, while others strongly disagree. In this essay I will consider both points of view and express my own opinion.
On the one hand, many people support the idea that robots will do most jobs instead of people. One of their main arguments is that machines can work faster and more accurately and do not get tired. For example, in many car factories robots already assemble vehicles with very little human help.
On the other hand, a lot of people hold the opposite view. First, many types of work require emotions, responsibility and moral choices, such as teaching or social work. It is hard to imagine a robot understanding all the feelings involved in a conflict at school or in a family problem.
To sum up, there are strong arguments on both sides of this issue. In my opinion, robots will take over many routine tasks, but people will still be needed in jobs that demand creativity, empathy and important decisions.
