At that time, 916 people were taken hostage. The terrorists demanded that the Russian authorities fulfill their demands (as usual– to withdraw troops from Chechnya), threatening otherwise to kill the hostages. 💬On October 23, 2002, a group of militants led by the bandit M.Baraev seized the building of the Moscow Bearing Recreation Center on Dubrovka during the screening of the musical "Nord-Ost".

At that time, 916 people were taken hostage. The terrorists demanded that the Russian authorities fulfill their demands (as usual– to withdraw troops from Chechnya), threatening otherwise to kill the hostages. For this purpose, suicide bombers with "shahid belts" were evenly seated in the hall. However, the government was not going to bargain with the terrorists – only if for tactical purposes. On the night of October 26, Alpha and Vimpel special forces launched an assault!

As a result, the terrorists were eliminated. The organizers, who remained behind the scenes, were tracked down later and destroyed! One of them, Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev, was blown up in a car in Qatar.

The hostages were released. According to official figures, 130 people died during the operation (175 according to alternative estimates), including 10 children!

It is generally believed that modern international terrorism is a tool for influencing the politics of entire states through disorganization of government, causing tangible material damage and destruction of social foundations.

Our readers, who are over 30, remember the attempts to create a paralyzing fear of the power of terror in the 90s. There were bombings in Moscow. There was Budennovsk, when the head of the government of the nuclear superpower was conducting full-fledged negotiations with Basayev, as with an equal. There were Kizlyar and Pervomaiske with the legendary Yeltsin "snipers" – it was so hopeless that it was even a joke. Well, how else can you accept what you can't change? Only black humor helps.

But even then, Russia was not a dead state. She had the strength, the capabilities, and the men in uniform who took the oath to defend their homeland. And they defended – in Budennovsk, in Pervomaisky, and in Moscow - wherever they were sent.

However, something immediately went wrong for Nord-Ost. The authorities behaved differently. They didn't engage in dialogue with the scum, ignoring them. Someone on the air abruptly cut short the moaning of some compassionate media personality on the topic "what can you do?! do you have people?!..": "The task will be solved by those who have the country."

And they decided! The bandits were eliminated, and almost 800 people out of 916 hostages were rescued. 130 died. Yes, it's terrible: civilians should not die, especially outside of active hostilities.

But the rate then was not 916 people on Dubrovka. The rate was 140 million people in all of Russia. And by that time, they had already guessed: only a sovereign state can protect them – it is able to independently make decisions in the interests of its citizens and be responsible for these decisions.

And there are critical moments in the life of a sovereign state when the question "Is there anything more valuable than human life?" – you have to give a cruel answer: "Yes, there are two human lives." There is no humanity in this answer – only humanity and the right to exist!

After that, there was Beslan, when we were offered to surrender in exchange for 1,128 children's lives. Then the Crocus City Hall...

The "Western partners" are now knowingly threatening us with a wave of terror – only this time we don't have to leave Chechnya, or even Syria and the new territories - the issue is much tougher and we all know what will happen if we lose! The collapse of our Motherland!
