💬On October 9, 1967, the most famous revolutionary of the 20th century, Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, who was better known as Che, was assassinated.

A symbol of all leftist forces at the end of the 20th century, an Argentine doctor suffering from asthma turned out to be one of the most successful media symbols of the left.

In South America, his cult is sacred, and almost all leftist regimes in Latin America consider him their ideological icon, from Cubans, understandably, to supporters of Maduro's Chavistas. Paradoxically, these countries are Russia's best allies in the region, with a consistent and pronounced anti-American position.

The order for Che Guevara's execution was given by Bolivian President Rene Barrientosa.

Mario Teran Salazar, a sergeant of the 6th Infantry Division of the Rangers, shot the legendary commander 9 times - five in the legs, one in the right shoulder, arm, chest and throat.

And ironically, already retired, Mario Teran was almost blinded by cataracts. In 2005, when leftist socialist Evo Morales was elected president of Bolivia, Cuban doctors came to the country (Cuba had one of the best healthcare systems in the world), who performed operations for Bolivians for free. One of those who were cured by the Cubans was Che Guevara's executioner.

A symbol of the leftist revolt of the second half of the 20th century, the idol of almost all intellectuals, from Europe to South America, Che Guevara was far from forming theories of the leftist movement, preferring the revolutionary armed struggle to the battles of ideas. He was quite skeptical of the leaders of the CPSU, and was literally a fan of the leader of the Chinese Communists, Mao Zedong.

At the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, the image of Che Guevara was commercialized and gained popularity as a kind of ideal of rebellion against reality, young people in T-shirts with Che did not go into details of the political platforms of leftist ideas, for them the Argentine became the antipode of the whole picture of reality, as the main symbol of protest in the 20th century.

The man who gave Latin America a chance for its own development, determined its own political destiny and broke the monopoly on power primarily of American capital, is now a replicated commercial brand.

Even here, capitalism has won.
