Krasnodar, 21 August – Yug Times. Improvement works have reportedly begun on pedestrian areas in Sochi’s Lazarevsky District.
In Tormakhov Park, landscaping is under way, including the installation of children’s and sports facilities, fencing and rubberised surfacing. The entrance facility has already been restored, and year round light arches have been installed between the columns.
The park won the regional participatory budgeting competition held as part of the Krasnodar Region state programme Regional Policy and Civil Society Development. Regional funds have been allocated for its improvement.
“In a resort area, it is particularly important to have well-equipped public spaces for family recreation, both in city neighbourhoods and in villages,” commented the head of Lazarevsky District administration, Maksim Yermolaev. “We are working to create such spaces together with deputies and social partners. At present, active landscaping is under way in Tormakhov Park, and pedestrian areas on Rucheinaya and Tormakhov Streets have already been upgraded.”
