I am working on a project on why Zetlanders rarely buy Christmas presents online and have found a table with the results of a relevant survey. In this essay I am going to comment on the survey data and express my opinion on the subject of the project.
According to the table, over half of the respondents (52%) rarely buy Christmas presents online because it is difficult to find a high-quality present. For 13% of the surveyed the main obstacle is that choosing takes too much time, and for 11% the reason is late delivery.
Predictably, the fact that the photo may be deceptive (18%) is a more popular reason why the respondents rarely order Christmas presents online than the absence of gift packaging (6%). It is well known that photos can be photoshopped. The item itself may differ from its image and be a disappointment, which is unacceptable if it is a present. As for gift packaging, one can easily wrap an item in gift paper themselves.
Unfortunately, although sellers usually do their best to estimate the delivery date, a delay can occur. A present is usually bought for a particular occasion that cannot be postponed until the item arrives. In order to avoid such a situation, one should order presents only from local shops or sellers. In this case, the delivery is likely to be fast.
In conclusion, I believe that it is not advisable to buy presents online. When choosing a present, it is important to check its quality because there is usually no time left to exchange a defective item or order something different.
