Bitcoin Network Activity Declines
⬛Since the beginning of 2025, the number of daily transactions on the Bitcoin network has nearly halved, falling to 320,000–500,000, according to analysts at Glassnode. This marks the lowest activity level since October 2023. Meanwhile, the average transaction size has climbed to $36,200, with large transfers (over $100,000) now accounting for 80% of the total.
⬛Experts attribute this trend to the growing dominance of large holders and the shift of activity to the off-chain segment. Most trading volume now comes from centralized exchanges, which reduces on-chain transaction fees. As a result, miners’ revenue from fees has dropped to below 1% of the total.
