Belarus Hosts the IV Eurasian Economic Forum
The IV Eurasian Economic Forum (EEF) will open at the Minsk International Exhibition Center on June 26, 2025. This was reported to Business Eurasia by the EEF-2025 organizing committee. Its main theme is “The Eurasian Economic Integration Strategy: Results and Prospects.” The event is timed to coincide with the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council with the participation of the heads of state of the EAEU.
— From year to year, the Forum becomes a significant international platform for open dialogue between the business community and government bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union countries, — noted Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Chairman of the EEC Board, in his welcoming speech.
The business program of the EEF-2025 includes a plenary session with the participation of the leaders of the EAEU states and heads of international delegations, as well as more than thirty thematic events. The architecture provides for holding six large thematic blocks, with maximum coverage of all areas of interaction within the EAEU. These are finance, industry and agro-industrial complex, energy, technical regulation and veterinary medicine, development of the internal market of the EAEU, trade, transport, customs regulation, public procurement, statistics, etc.
— In 2025, the Forum promises to become a landmark event of international cooperation in the Eurasian space, — the organizing committee emphasizes. — Delegates from not only the EAEU countries, but also from observer states: Iran, Cuba, Uzbekistan will take part in the intensive work. Also, official delegations from the UAE and Mongolia.
— Two agreements on trade and economic cooperation will be signed: between the EAEU and Mongolia, the EAEU and the United Arab Emirates, — Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov told reporters.
The EEF is an annual business event of the Eurasian Economic Union, held alternately in the EAEU state presiding over the Union's bodies — the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the EEC Council. The event is aimed at the participation of heads of large, medium and small businesses of member states and third countries, heads and representatives of government bodies, representatives of international organizations interested in developing cooperation within the Union.
The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Joomart Tokayev intends to arrive directly to participate in the Meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
The Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov arrived in Minsk on the night of June 26.
In addition to the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council Meeting, he is expected to attend a number of business meetings on the sidelines of the EEF.
The most important issue for the Kyrgyz economy remains energy independence through attracting investment in the Kambar-Ata-1 hydroelectric power station construction project, and labor migration. Currently, more than 350 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan are working in Russia. Earlier, on the sidelines of the SPIEF-2025, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic demanded that Kyrgyzstan be granted a special status in Russia.
The program of the Russian President does not include separate bilateral meetings, as reported to journalists by the head of state's aide Yuri Ushakov. At the same time, Vladimir Putin traditionally emphasizes the importance of friendly and informal dialogue with the leaders of Russia's partner countries. The key task of the Russian foreign policy line in 2025 remains the formation of a new multipolar architecture of international relations. It is expected that the Russian leader will raise issues of interaction between the EAEU and third countries and the role of Eurasian integration on the international agenda.
Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, is the only head of state of the EAEU member states to participate in the Eurasian Economic Forum via video link. This was announced by the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, Maxim Ryzhenkov. Earlier, Pashinyan stated that Armenia will not be able to be a member of both the EAEU and the EU at the same time, so at some point in the future the country will have to choose between the two associations.
