EVALUATION OF RUSSIAN HEALTH SYSTEM

There are many questions about Russian medicine and it is very common to hear from people about their unpleasant experience of treating illnesses in both public and private hospitals. The most frequent complaints about public hospitals include long queues for the GP, low-quality equipment and hospital staff’s poor treatment. As for private hospitals, people accuse them of misdiagnosing so that the patient goes to the hospital longer and pays extra money for nothing to be cured. But personally, I don’t expect health system to be perfect. Moreover, I can give arguments based on my experience that show advantages of Russian health system. First of all, the laws of our country guarantee free medicine in public institutions and provide accessibility of health services. As well as citizens have choice between free and paid medicine. Secondly, essential medicine can be sold in pharmacies without a prescription. This way, to get rid of a slight headache or stomach problems, there is no need to go to a specialist. And finally, Russia is known for its home cooking and the culture of the daily routine. From childhood, in schools and summer camps, children are taught a healthy lifestyle that includes sports, healthy diets and bedtime patterns. Such a lifestyle practice is excellent prevention of many diseases.

To sum up, I believe that the Russian health system is at the appropriate level, and with the development of technology, the government will be able to provide even better conditions of treatment.
