The People were talking: “BLIND RAIN”. But they were wrong. The Raindrop saw everything clearly, as it was her who invited the Sun to make a Festival of Light, Laughter and Joy for everyone! STAR RAIN was also very festive. But honestly, the Raindrop didn’t take part in it, but she was delighted, that people called with her name flying, falling and playing of the Stars. In any incarnation the Raindrop was creating wonderful music - the music of flowing Water, as she could sing, gurgle, flow, slide, pour, knock, ring, drip, gallop, gush, rumble, splash, sound like drums; and during spring days her victorious noise filled all space up to the very Sky. “Life is so unpredictable”, the Raindrop thought, when once it became so cold that her transparent little body shrank and froze...

And the Raindrop disappeared to be born in a new, brilliant form of a fluffy, patterned SNOWFLAKE.

How happy she was because of her new appearance. How she became majestically regal and touchingly tender! How unique was her silver face!

Not some kind of “columns” or “plates”, but real stars, hexagonal, with an exceptional ornament! No matter how long would she look at her sisters, she could never find the same pattern.

“How unique we all are!”, The Snowflake was surprised. And she was absolutely right: you could never find two IDENTICAL Snowflakes.

She was really beautiful: she refracted sunlight and moonlight with thousands of tiny ice crystals Her tender and fragile glow made her look like a fantastic Flower. She wasn’t was not prickly at all: sparkling with sparks, shimmering blue, with shaggy “eyelashes” – like a fairy-tale beauty!

And how much joy she brought to the world!

She covered the Earth with a warm blanket so that the Plants, the Trees and the Herbs would not freeze. How touchingly the Partridges and Black Grouse, Hazel Grouse and Wood Grouse buried themselves in her fluffy, clean clothes! How sweetly the Bears slept! How loudly the children laughed and squealed, jumping into its snowdrifts, racing down the hills on sleds, playing snowballs or running barefoot across its shimmering whiteness!

And what a wonderful activity People came up with: making a Snowman, or, throwing yourself on your back in a scattering of bright snow, smoothly moving your arms and legs, “drawing” a Snow Angel!

People loved her. Her name was given to a delicate Flower – Snowdrop; Poems and fairy tales were written about her, and the heroine of the fairy tales was the Snow Maiden.

Snowflake loved to peer into the windows of houses in the predawn and draw strange patterns on them. So she gave the Artists ideas for their creativity, and the Children - joyful surprise and confidence in the miracles of the World, in which, upon opening their eyes in the morning, you can find the finest patterns on the window glass - a gift from the Wizards.

In a round dance with her sisters, she could become the FIRST SNOW – DEEP POWDER, People said, soft, plump. If you ski on quiet, peaceful powder, it seems as if you are floating in weightlessness. And the Man unwittingly smiles. And the Snowflakes also smile and dance, and dance, and dance...

And they can also become a Blizzard and Snowstorm, Heavy Snowfall, Ice, Hail, Drizzle, Hoarfrost, Icicles, Snow Rain, Drops...

How many wonderful names, and how wonderful is the Life of every Droplet-Rain-Snowflake-Ice-Floe!

“The most important thing,” says the young Snowflake, “is the creation of a WINTER fairy tale: a blissful state of serenity, peace, and enjoyment of the Beauty of the World. When the whole world, as if enchanted, freezes in silence, not breathing, in its grandeur... And all his vital Power, Purity and Harmony are embodied in his indescribable BEAUTY!

“Stop, just a moment, you’re beautiful!”, people say every time, as on the first day of the creation of the World, amazed by the greatest Miracle in the world – BEAUTY.
