🔍 I just read a The Wall Street Journal article that really hit hard—cyber scams are now being linked to human trafficking and forced labor. It’s beyond horrifying to think that vulnerable people are being lured into these situations and forced into criminal activities.
🛑 Exploitation: These individuals are trapped in cybercrime rings, often in Southeast Asia, facing unimaginable conditions.
💻Cybercrime: These people are often lured in with fake job offers and then forced to run cybercrime operations like phishing schemes and romance scams.
🌐 This is a global crisis that we all need to be aware of. It’s a reminder that our fight against cybercrime also needs to tackle the human side of these crimes.
💪 What can we do?
✔️Businesses: We need to ensure our supply chains are clean and support organizations fighting against human trafficking.
✔️Governments: There’s a need for stronger regulations and actions against these traffickers.
