There are a lot of different kinds of emergency services all around the world. In each country each of them has its own phone number so people could call them in case of emergency situation. In Russia five mane services are the most common. They are:
- Fire Department ( 01/101)
- Police Department (02/102)
- Embulance (03/103)
- Emergency Gas Service (04/104)
- Unified Rescue Service (112)
Usually, to ask to police officer or someone in police you have to go to the police department itself, but if you are a tourist, you might not know where the department is. In this case, tourists can find on the streets of cities and towns patrolmen, who are always polite to anybody who needs their help. But even if tourists can't find such patrols, they can find the special info centre for tourists where they can find out everything they want to know.
In my area there are two main hospitals. One of them belongs to goverment and it's free for any cityzen who has special document called "polis" The other hospital is private and you have to pay to use its services. As I think, quality of medicine halp is better in the privat hospital, but it's not available for everyone, so it's grat that we have such free one.
Talking about volunteering in save-and-rescue associasions, our country has some of them. For exampple, the organistaion called "Lisa Alert". It searches for people who disappeared somewhere and nobody knows anything about them. Volounteers come together and start searching for them. It's very brave and commendable to be such volounteer
As far as I know, our region doesn't have any special emergency servises excpet for the MChS. MChS is a special service which works when some serious problem appears. For example, if there is a massive forrest fire which hurt some people. The people who are in this services need to localize this problem so there were not any of such troubles again.
Tourists should be very careful when they are in such sites as tha channel. That's a riverbank of the Moscow channel in our town which is probably one of the most unnattractive places in the town. It's very dangerous to be there because the conrete there is very slick. and it's easy to fall down into water. The stream in it is so strong that it can fully get you the way you can't get out of the water.
