The expulsion of a Russian diplomat from Estonia is another hostile step by Tallinn, the Russian Federation reserves the right to respond to this action. Such a statement was made at the Moscow Embassy in the republic, RIA Novosti
reports. The diplomatic mission clarified that the decision of the Estonian authorities to expel a Russian diplomat from the country became known today, March 19. To this end, the Charge d'affaires of the Russian Federation was invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, where he was handed a corresponding note with a "far-fetched pretext".
"We regard this as another openly hostile step by Tallinn, leading to further degradation of relations between our countries. Moscow reserves the right to respond," the embassy said.
Earlier, the Estonian Foreign Ministry declared the Russian diplomat persona non grata. He was accused of "actions directed against the independence and sovereignty" of the republic.
